There is no specific size or weight associated with “larger bodies” as the term is used on this website. If you feel that you’re living in a larger body and this is impacting your mental health, you’re welcome here.

No, not at all. The Green Velvet Armchair offers counselling to help people with mental health struggles associated with larger body size and/or compulsive overeating. We work from a Health At Every Size (HAES) perspective. If you’re needing support around your diet please see a dietitian.

No. My focus is on those in larger bodies. There are many services available for those dealing with anorexia. The Butterfly Foundation is a good place to start: https://butterfly.org.au/

I work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 8.30am to 5pm. Some evening and weekend appointments are also available.

I see clients from all over Australia online via zoom.

The fee for a one hour counselling session is $120.
If you are experiencing financial hardship please get in touch to discuss your fee.

If you have booked an appointment I am keeping a time slot open for you. Please let me know ASAP if you’re not able to make an appointment.
Cancellations within 24 hours of an appointment are difficult to replace and therefore incur a fee.

Counsellors are currently unable to offer Medicare rebates for clients with a mental health plan.

No referral is needed. Just contact me directly to arrange a first appointment.

I’m an inclusive, LGBTQIA+ affirming practitioner.

I don’t currently work with couples but there are several therapists in the Bairnsdale area who specialise in this area.
